• Happy Meal toys featuring MultiVersus characters are available at McDonald’s until April 4.

  • The cross-franchise fighting game mashes up characters from DC, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, and more.

Warner Bros. has partnered with McDonald’s to promote the release of its upcoming fighting game, MultiVersus. Until April 4, customers can purchase one of six Happy Meal toys that feature playable characters from the game. These toys can be purchased separately, without having to buy a full Happy Meal.

MultiVersus is a 2D platform fighter set to release on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam on May 28. Initially, it was released in 2022 as a free-to-play game with an Open Beta label. The game’s fighting style is reminiscent of Super Smash Bros. and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, where the characters attack each other to accumulate enough damage to knock the opponent out of the screen. MultiVersus features a blend of characters from different Warner Bros. franchises such as DC, Scooby-Doo, Cartoon Network, Looney Tunes, and some unannounced properties like The Iron Giant.

MultiVersus has announced a new release date and some major changes to the game after shutting down in 2023. Along with this announcement, the game has partnered with McDonald’s for a promotion that includes a miniature tin containing a six-piece puzzle with each Happy Meal. The tin pairs up ten playable characters from the game, including Superman, Harley Quinn, Bugs Bunny, Finn the Human, Black Adam, Shaggy, Velma, Batman, and the Tasmanian Devil. Batman and Taz have two match-ups each, and all the characters are depicted as they appear in MultiVersus.
